Each layer has to cure before the next goes on. That's what gives a hand painted monogram its depth and its edge definition — and it's why the work can't be rushed or reproduced by a machine. The result sits on the surface of the leather as raised, saturated color rather than a stamped impression. That layered build is also what makes it last.

Hand painted personalization is priced per item, not per letter — because each letter is applied by hand, the work is individual, but what you pay isn't tied to how many characters you choose. Pricing is shown on the product page when you select hand painting.
Hand painted orders take longer to ship than our debossed monograms. Each layer is painted by hand and needs to cure before the next goes on, so the piece moves through several stages before it's ready. You'll see estimated delivery options at checkout. Personalized items are final sale.
